Save the Date – Purim 2018!

March 10

The Aftselakhis Spectacle Committee, in cahoots with Jews For Racial and Economic Justice, and Great Small Works excitedly bring you:

***”PURIM UNLEASHED: AN ORACULAR HEIST”***

It’s been described as “The Radical Queer Purim Spiel You MUST Attend” (thanks Jewcy!). All your favorite Purim characters will feature, but maybe not in ways you expect. Anticipate music, satire, irreverence, puppets, glitter, doykeit, joy, confusion and lots of fun.

$12-20 at the door, no one turned away for lack of cash or costume. Our first act begins at 8:30!

This year’s production features five time-bending and shape-shifting locations, including a dog-laden carousel with hidden messages, a succulent and sustaining lounge inside a pomegranate, a chilling museum of seven generations of white supremacy, and the post-capitalist post office staffed by liberated plants and animals. There’s a heist! There’s divination! There’s a cat that wants a job on the dog carousel!

Our Saturday night show is our all out performance and after-party. Put on your best costume and summon all your energy for the Purim party of your dreams.

Guest contributing artist organizers
Blake The Skorp, Sivan Rose Battat, members of Outside Voices theater company, Jessica Santos López, and Janice Bartley!

Dance music between the sets:

at 12:15: Rude Mechanical Orchestra New York’s radical street protest and party band
And to close the evening: Dj Ripley with her ferociously adventurous blend of global street bass sounds
