The Jewish Multiracial Network (JMN) and Jews For Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ) are excited to announce a Jews of Color National Convening. This important endeavor is designed to empower Jews of Color and provide a space for national strategizing, unprecedented advocacy, and mobilization of Jews of Color and their allies within the American Jewish community. The event is co-sponsored by Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice and funded in part by the Ford Foundation.
Recent events have moved racial justice to the forefront of America’s public consciousness. Jews of Color occupy a unique space in this movement, living at the intersection of multiple communities and identities. We come together this spring to celebrate our diversity and build our strength as a community. We want to build a world in which our Jewishness thrives; a world where we are valued as leaders within the Jewish community; a world where our whole selves are supported by Jewish communities committed to the fight against racism.
We are collaborating to create an ambitious and far reaching meeting of Jews of Color that will help to dramatically change the fabric of the Jewish Community. Our goal is for JOC leaders to walk away with the tools to create tangible and effective change in the Jewish community and in the wider racial justice movement in America.
We invite all Jews of Color to participate in what we hope will be an insightful and impactful gathering of leading voices in Jewish diversity and social justice. There will be programming offered for multiracial families during part of the convening and we invite you to attend. There will be also be programming for JOC teens and students.
Join us in May to connect with other Jews of Color and allies, and to join a movement to build a more inclusive and equal community.
This event is for Jews of Color.
