The Aftselakhis Spectacle Committee, in cahoots with Jews For Racial and Economic Justice, excitedly bring you:
***"PURIM UNLEASHED: AN ORACULAR HEIST"***
It's been described as "The Radical Queer Purim Spiel You MUST Attend" (thanks Jewcy!). All your favorite Purim characters will feature, but maybe not in ways you expect. Anticipate music, satire, irreverence, puppets, glitter, doykeit, joy, confusion and lots of fun.
This year's production features five time-bending and shape-shifting locations, including a dog-laden carousel with hidden messages, a succulent and sustaining lounge inside a pomegranate, a chilling museum of seven generations of white supremacy, and the post-capitalist post office staffed by liberated plants and animals. There's a heist! There's divination! There's a cat that wants a job on the dog carousel!
Thursday night is our preview show, a more cozy, quiet evening without the party of our Saturday night show. For a more raucous time, head to our Saturday night event, and for those of you with children come to our Sunday children's carnival.
At East Midwood Jewish Center, 1625 Ocean Ave, Brooklyn.
7:30 doors, 8pm show.
$12-20 suggested, no one turned away.
