Join us to help shape JFREJ's strategy to build community safety without relying on police at our Freedom to Thrive Meeting. We will discuss our work to fight for police accountability, advocate for city resources to be equitably distributed, and build community safety for those most vulnerable and marginalized at this time.
The City must make meaningful cuts to the almost $6B NYPD budget in order to strengthen crucial public health infrastructure, save safety-net programs and ensure that services, programs, and infrastructure in Black and other communities of color most impacted by COVID-19 are prioritized over policing. While many City agencies are facing major cuts & hiring freezes, the Mayor's proposed budget leaves the NYPD budget largely untouched.
Zoom link will be shared upon RSVP.
