We know Ana Maria as an organizer, a founder of Make the Road NY, and a fighter who speaks truth to power at all times. She has been on the front lines of immigrant justice advocacy for years, and just this month stood with Caring Majority members in the final days of the Fair Pay for Home Care budget fight.

In the wake of a New York State budget where the utter failure of Albany business-as-usual was on full display, Kathy Hochul’s chosen Lieutenant Governor resigned following his arrest on corruption charges (again, an all too familiar headline in our state capitol). We know the Albany machine is going to move quickly to fill that gap. This is a pivotal moment to meet the establishment’s closed-door schemes with a wave of support for a movement candidate.
