CD7 neighbors and Manhattan neighborhood group members are gathering for a springtime picnic in Sakura Park to demand #CareNotCuts, and discuss opportunities to take action to protect public institutions in the city budget.
We are concerned about the Mayor's proposed cuts to schools, libraries, affordable housing programs and other public institutions we rely on, and even more that our neighbors rely on: adult literacy programs, mental health clinics, and universal 3-K. And we are tired of having to fight for these services every year! We are planning to get together with neighbors for this outdoor gathering to let our kids play, have a nosh (snack) and talk about what it will take to get a city budget that reflects our priorities. If you are concerned about what's at stake for our families and communities, join us!
