Although it’s been in the works since 2021, NYC is now – like Atlanta and Chicago before us – officially about to spend hundreds of millions of our tax dollars on a large police training facility in Queens. As if this wasn’t upsetting enough, Mayor Adams is investing in a New York Cop City while also trying to make disastrous cuts to essential services like libraries, affordable housing and education. We’re taking action the following day, on Thursday, June 20th, at City Hall to demand a People's Budget that funds the things New Yorkers desperately need – CUNY, libraries, education, mental health, and housing, – not more police militarization.
