Jews for Racial & Economic Justice is proud to launch our second year of the Youth Brigade, a program to engage Jewish high school students age 13 - 18 to work towards JFREJ's ongoing mission of speaking truth to power and pursuing racial and economic justice right here at home.
APPLY TODAYby filling out our Youth Brigade Application here! Our deadline for applying is Friday, September 25th!
Our goal is to empower a group of ten youth to grow as community leaders and create transformative change in themselves, their communities, and New York City. Together, we will infuse JFREJ with layers of creative organizing, artistic mischief, and revolutionary love.
Young people who join the Youth Brigade will:
- Learn how to be awesome organizers and facilitators
- Develop leadership skills that will be useful to you at JFREJ, in your school, in your congregation and anywhere else you are organizing
- Learn about the role that they and other young people can play in social justice and movement-building; get to organize and make friends with revolutionary Jewish and non-Jewish youth
- Take action by participating in JFREJ’s Campaign for Police Accountability
- Deepen their creative talents to express themselves around issues of power and oppression
- Become a Jewish activist: build puppets, write songs, create theater, and rally the people for justice and liberation!
