If you read the New York Times this weekend, you saw Audrey Sasson, JFREJ’s Executive Director, representing our powerful band of proud “disloyal Jews” in Michelle Goldberg’s Sunday column about Jewish Left organizing.
For us, the emergence of a “new” Jewish Left under Trump and the white Nationalism he incites is no coincidence — it’s the result of decades of dedicated investment in relationship-building, community organizing, and action-taking with our beloved partners and allies. And this has only been possible because of your investment in us, your JFREJ family.
Today, we are proud to mark the recognition of our work by the country’s paper of record — our eyes are fixed firmly on confronting the challenges ahead. To help us meet these challenges, we need to grow our membership, and ask you for your support once again.
Please join as a dues paying member, renew your membership, or make a special donation today.
This summer, JFREJ members have been fighting alongside our immigrant family to shut down ICE and stop the inhumane detention and deportation machine — in Queens and Harlem in neighborhood defense teams, outside Palantir’s Chelsea office, and at the Amazon store on Tisha B’av.
We are doing this because as Jews, alongside most other Americans, we are deeply concerned about the existential moment we face as a democracy. And we know that the only way to beat back the fascist tide and win a future for all of us is by imagining and then organizing at every level for a city and a state that allows people to live full, thriving lives.
Help us continue imagining and organizing bigger and better.
We know that Trump’s recent attacks against Jews happened precisely because of the actions we are taking at JFREJ and across the network of Jewish groups; because he and those in charge feel threatened by us and our solidarity with our fearless Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, with Mijente and Make the Road NY and DRUM, and with the people of El Paso and Dayton, OH.
But we will not back down. We will only fight back and organize harder and smarter. Thank you for helping make this possible.
