Around 5,000 people gathered for a protest in New York organized by Jews for Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ) and other progressive groups voicing their concerns over the results of the recent elections and issuing a stark warning against the prospect of a second Trump presidency.

"This is not the time to curl up in the shadows," said Alicia Singham Goodwin, JFREJ's Political Director. "This is the time to be brave, and the best way to do it is together. We are extremely clear about our stake as Jews when it comes to fighting fascism, genocide, scapegoating, inequality, and hate. We know real safety comes not from throwing some people under the bus and scrambling to climb over them, but on building a real pluralistic democracy where everyone's basic needs are met. That's the future we deserve. That's the future we're fighting for."

Rabbi Abby Stein added, "You don't have to agree with everything everyone says to show up and be part of a popular front against Trump and the broader fascist movement. We need all of us."
