People from all over the city came together at Columbus Circle Saturday to speak out against President-elect Donald Trump and his policies.
“We’re out here because we’re extremely clear eyed about the threat ahead and who is directly targeted,” said Sophie Ellman-Golan, a Brooklyn resident and part of the Jews For Racial & Economic Justice group.
The rally comes after a record number of New Yorkers voted in favor of Trump on Election Day.
Marchers could be heard chanting, "Not my President" and "Protect our families." Marchers also held signs in support of the groups they say are under attack from the future administration.
“We cried a little right, that was Wednesday morning but now we wipe our tears, and now its time to fight, to defend ourselves, we’re just in defense mode," said Perla Silva, a Brooklyn resident and a part of the immigrant-led organization, Make the Road.
